What We Do
Love Animals
The Scott County Humane Society was formed by a small group of animal lovers dedicated to improving the lives of the animals of Scott County, Virginia.
We formed a 501(c)(3) organization in November 2007. We are a 100% volunteer organization and rely solely on monetary donations. All donations are tax deductible.
Save Lives
By concentrating on a low cost spay/neuter program for cats and dogs, aggressively pulling dogs from the local animal shelter for reputable rescues, and adopting dogs into loving homes, we have helped our local animal shelter reduce the euthanasia rate from 69% in 2013 to 4.00% in 2024.
Work Together
Thanks to the SpayVA Grant that the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies awarded to the Scott County Humane Society, more animals will be spayed and neutered.
This has a direct effect on the pet overpopulation problem faced by so many local areas.
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO VFHS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
