In March 2025 Scott County Humane Society was able to rescue 31 shelter dogs. 28 dogs were sent to rescues.

In March 2025 Scott County Humane Society was able to rescue 31 shelter dogs. 28 dogs were sent to rescues.
Shout out to Diara with Friends Of Homeless Animals (FOHA) for taking in sweet Copper and committing to find him a perfect home where he can love and be loved. You all are great and have helped this small group from Southwest Virginia for many years to save innocent lives. You all are truly appreciated.

Thank you to Chris Haverly and Sonja Mabe with Tri-State Animal Transport. On Saturday, they made sure that 16 awesome dogs and puppies from Scott County made it safely to Staunton VA to either meet their rescue or the next leg of the journey to their rescue.
Then a big shout out to Mischelle Gunzelman for making sure that 15 of these babies made it from Staunton to meet the rescue.
That rescue is Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, we know they will find each of these innocent little lives a perfect home full of love and devotion.
