312 Local Dogs Saved in 2025

The Scott County Humane Society, Inc. is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that works hand-in-hand with our local shelter and community. The partnership that has developed between us and the local shelter is truly saving the lives of innocent animals in Southwest Virginia. Our supporters in this community that truly care about the animals help fund and inspire us to keep working to save that next animal in need. Without them we would have been finished long ago. So, here is what the Scott County Humane Society supporters have helped to accomplish in 2025 through their generosity.

250 dogs were pulled from the local shelter and 1 stray was picked up by us that went to reputable rescue in 2025

(All of those dogs were completely vetted by us or the receiving rescue before going to their forever homes.)

61 dogs and one cat were owner surrendered to the Scott County Humane Society in 2025

(All of those animals were completely vetted by us or the receiving rescue before going to their forever homes.)

WOW! Because of your support and the dedication of the Scott County Humane Society in Gate City, VA an amazing 312 animals were given a second chance. They were saved, vetted, transported, and taken in by rescues that have the resources to find and vet potential adopters to make sure that everyone truly finds their forever homes.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
